Dr. Marcum is a veterinary clinician, researcher, and successful entrepreneur. Dr. Marcum’s veterinary career has been focused on caring for the equine athlete and the unique physical and orthopedic challenges that can often occur during their growth and development. While treating these highly competitive animals, Dr. Marcum pursued an innovative and technically-driven development plan to find solutions to some of these problems. In collaboration with his business partners, he co-founded ArthroDynamic Technologies, Inc., which developed and commercialized Polyglycan©, a revolutionary viscoelastic formulation for veterinary orthopedics. Dr. Marcum’s research efforts have yielded over 20 US approved and pending patents, and awarded numerous international patents covering his formulations.
For nearly a decade now, an estimated two million treatments of Polyglycan© have been safely administered by veterinarians for equine, canine, and feline orthopedic and urogenital conditions. Dr. Marcum is now focused on developing viscoelastic formulations for human indications, and continues to direct the research and development of Arthodynamic Holdings, LLC.
